01 — The Original

LED Flame Technology

LED has been the flame technology behind every Moda Living fireplace to date. Rows of LED lights sit behind a bed of logs, crystals, or a textured backing panel, and the light plays across these materials to simulate movement and flicker.

  • Lower cost to produce, which keeps entry-level fireplaces affordable.
  • A warm, bright glow that reads as "classic" ambience rather than a literal flame.
  • Long-proven components with a strong reliability track record.
  • Best suited to buyers who want dependable everyday ambience over ultra-realism.

LCD Flame Technology

LCD fireplaces replace the lit logs with a digital screen. Instead of light bouncing off physical materials, high-resolution flame footage is displayed directly, giving noticeably sharper colour, smoother motion, and finer detail than LED.

  • Realistic colour grading, from soft amber to bright, dynamic orange.
  • Smooth, natural flame movement rather than a fixed lighting pattern.
  • A cleaner, more contemporary look that suits minimalist interiors.
  • Typically a step up in price from LED, reflecting the added screen technology.

Holographic Flame Technology

Holographic fireplaces build the flame effect from projected or layered imagery inside the firebox, so the flame appears to have genuine depth rather than sitting flat behind the glass. The result is the most immersive and dimensional flame effect in the range.

  • Flames appear to float with real dimensional depth, visible from multiple angles.
  • The most premium, statement-making visual effect Moda Living will offer.
  • Ideal as a focal point in open-plan or feature-wall installations.
  • Positioned at the top of the range, reflecting the more advanced technology.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the flame technology affect how much heat the fireplace gives out?

No. Flame technology is purely visual. Heat output depends on the heater unit inside the fireplace, which is specified separately for each product — always check the wattage and recommended room size on the product page.

Will LED fireplaces still be available once LCD and Holographic launch?

Yes. LED remains part of the core range. LCD and Holographic are being introduced as additional options for customers who want a more realistic or more dimensional flame effect.

Which flame type looks the most realistic?

LCD offers sharper, more true-to-life detail than LED thanks to real flame footage. Holographic goes a step further by adding visual depth, so the flame appears three-dimensional rather than flat.

Are LCD and Holographic fireplaces more expensive than LED?

Generally, yes — the more advanced the flame technology, the higher the price position, with LED as entry level, LCD as mid range, and Holographic as premium. Exact pricing will be confirmed on each product listing at launch.

Can I control the flame brightness or colour on all three types?

Flame brightness and, on many models, colour settings are available across the range, though exact controls vary by product. Check the individual product's feature list for specifics.
